Aptos Thread Lift Treatment
The Aptos Thread Lift treatment is a self-anchoring thread technology that permits a minimally invasive approach for elevation and fixation of skin. The Aptos Thread Lift treatment is now available in Cape Town and Somerset West administered under the careful eye of Dr Melinda Dommisse.
Aptos Threads History
The methods have been invented in 1996 by Georgian plastic surgeon Marlen Sulamanidze and has been developed by Dr. George and Constantin Sulamanidze. The Aptos thread and the methods of installing have obtained 18 patents of which 8 are international.
Aptos methods are reliable, have momentary results, do not leave seams and help to improve and reduce the process of skin fading.
From 1996 the Aptos has produced unique threads for plastic and aesthetic surgery and cosmetology that have gained the world’s recognition and are successfully applied by specialists in more than 50 countries.
The Aptos Thread Lift treatment is a minimally invasive in-office procedure performed under local anaesthetic that is designed to elevate, reposition and lift lax skin of the lower and mid face. The Aptos thread lift treatment works by having these fine threads inserted under the skin.
Using local anaesthetic, the threads are passed into the droopy facial element with a special guide cannula. The threads are then able to grab on to the droopy soft-tissue of the desired area.
Patients may experience bruising or swelling for 2-7 days. Most patients can return to normal activities with makeup within the next 1-2 days. Patients can resume work activities immediately post treatment. Patients may continue light exercise 1 week post procedure and continue their normal fitness routine 2 weeks post procedure.
Is this procedure painful
The Aptos thread lift treatment is not painful. Pain and discomfort are very minimal with this technique and most patients take only Paracetamol for pain relief. In most cases, ice compresses are recommended for the first 24-48 hours.
When and what type of result to expect
The Aptos thread lift treatment shows immediate effects. Patients can expect 30% of what a surgical facelift may achieve. It is important to understand that the Aptos thread Lift treatment is not equal to a surgical face-lift. Results last up to 18-24 months and can be repeated.
Important to know
Most of our Aptos thread lift patients combine their treatment with Dermal Fillers to achieve their desired result. Usually, 2-3 ml of filler.
How many treatments will I need
Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting effect. Treatment can be repeated every 12-24 months.
Are the threads permanent
Aptos threads are not permanent, the threads are absorbable, and it will dissolve over time.
