How does it work?

This treatment addresses aging hair follicles and hair loss by employing patented growth factor technology to promote healthy hair. Stem cells lining the hair follicles are crucial for the production and maintenance of hair. Supplementing with growth factors and active ingredients provides support to these stem cells so that hair can thrive. AQ’s advanced formulation works by nourishing hair follicles to a more functional and healthy state with GFs, active ingredients and fruit oils.  

Is this treatment painful?

The treatment is considered bearable but it is a bit painful. That said, the pain only lasts a couple of seconds where we are needling the solution into the scalp. Each treatment is fairly quick, so it is only a couple of minutes (usually 5-7 minutes) of discomfort. No pain will be experienced immediately post treatment. 

What’s the procedure?

1. You will first be seen by one of our doctors at one of our practices, they will do the initial consultation and perform the first treatment.
2. The treatment is done on the area of concern, if the hair is thinned out and short (often more common in male patients) the complex will be needled into the scalp via a medical grade microneedling device. If the concerned area has thicker, longer sparse hair then a stamping method may be used, known as micro-stamping.
3. 5 treatments are required in weekly intervals, an optional second series of 5 treatments can also be done for enhanced results after a 2 to 8 week break after series 1.
4. For the remainder of the treatments (sessions 2-5), you’ll be seen by one of our Medical Aestheticians, who will perform the remainder of the AQ microneedling treatments.
5. At treatment number 5, a complementary LED session will be done on the treated area to aid healing and further improve the results to follow.
6. Patients will be advised to return to the practice 6 months later for another complementary LED session and for the evaluation of results.

POST-TREATMENT GUIDELINES

1. Patients will be asked to not wash or touch the scalp for 24 hours post treatment.
2. The remaining 3ml of serum will be sent home with patients to be applied every 2 days to the treated area following the treatment.
3. Do not make use of any stimulating hair products for 3 days after the application of the serum.
4. Only make use of sulphate free shampoos and conditioners.

• The end product will be the natural regeneration of healthy hair and scalp.
