Subcision Cellulite
What is Subcision for Cellulite?
Subcision treatments for cellulite reduction is available at Natural Aesthetics in Cape Town, at our clinics in Green Point, Tyger Valley, and Somerset West. Subcision is one of the most effective treatments for cellulite, as it directly targets and releases the fibrous bands of tissue that pull the skin downward, creating the dimpled or uneven appearance commonly associated with cellulite.
How Subcision Works
Subcision for cellulite is an in-clinic procedure performed using a fine, sterile cannula that is gently inserted beneath the skin to release the fibrous bands tethering the skin to deeper tissues. By freeing these bands, the skin lifts and smooths out naturally, improving the overall contour and texture of the treated area.
As part of the healing process, Subcision also stimulates new collagen and elastin formation, helping to firm, thicken, and improve the elasticity of the skin over time.
Subcision at Natural Aesthetics
Our Subcision treatments for cellulite are exclusively performed by our medical doctors. Each session includes the application of local anaesthetic to numb the area, ensuring a comfortable experience. At Natural Aesthetics, we use a specialised cannula-blade designed to precisely release the fibrous septae beneath the skin, resulting in smoother, firmer contours and a visible reduction in dimpling.
For patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, Subcision can be enhanced with biostimulatory injectables such as Sculptra to further tighten and tone the treated area.
Subcision Treatment Areas
Subcision for cellulite can be performed on almost any area of the body where dimpling or tethered skin is present. The most common treatment areas include the buttocks, thighs, hips, and upper arms. Some patients also benefit from combination treatments involving Radio Frequency (RF) or Sculptra for additional skin tightening and collagen stimulation.

Patients with deep, well-defined dimples or tethered cellulite typically undergo a course of two Subcision treatments. For those who also experience skin laxity or loose skin, Subcision with Sculptra is our preferred approach.
